4D Technology

  • 4D Server provides a fully integrated architecture in which both client and server use a single 4D application. 4D Server frees developers from the need to design separate front-end and back-end applications.
  • 4D Client is fully functional client software that connects a mix of Mac and Windows machines to 4D Server.
  • 4D Write provides you with sophisticated word processing and document management functionality within your 4D applications. For example, you can attach word processing documents to any record in your database.
  • 4D View provides spreadsheet functions including calculations, projections, and analyses, along with data-viewing features such as the programming of dynamic input interfaces and calculation lists, printable lists, and more.
  • 4D Web Application lets you deploy 4D-powered rich Internet applications.
  • 4D Web Services allow an application to call another application using standard protocols such as SOAP and WSDL, independent of the platform or language used.
  • 4D OCI allows 4D access to the data and the structure of an ORACLE database from any 4th Dimension or 4D Server based application.
  • 4D ODBC Connectivity allows 4D to communicate with any data source accessible by an ODBC driver, enabling you to handle the data and structure of a SQL data source.
