When NowData builds a custom database, we start with our toolbox of standard modules that are continously-honed and refined to meet a variety of customer requirements. Here is a short list of the many available features ready to go to work for you:

Authentication and Access Control Lists (ACLs)

An ACL specifies which users--or system processes--are granted access to objects, as well as what operations are allowed to be performed on given objects. In addition to our built-in ACLs, we support Microsoft-based domain controllers and LDAP for login.

Integrated Backup

Run backups of your data at intervals you specify. Configure to auto-recover after a hardware crash or unexpected restart. Manually or automatically restore data from an archive.

All the parameters can be set programmatically to fully automate the backup system.

Client Updater

If you choose to deploy your database as a client-server application, each user's installed application is automatically updated as needed.

Data Access Interface

One of the most important jobs an effective database can provide is direct, easy-to-use access to the data stored in the database. We've got you covered with our data access interface. From this interface you can do a variety of tasks... everything from direct data entry to creating your own custom queries and reports.

Ad-Hoc Query Editor

Build your query using this simple tool. Complex queries can be saved to disk for easy recall when you come back to the editor.

Integrated Web Server

Activating the built-in HTTP server is as simple as clicking a button. This feature allows you to extend your database to an unlimited number of users via their web browsers!
