Help Wanted - Software Developer

NowData Corporation is seeking a self-motivated and resourceful professional in the programming/software development field. The ideal candidate is a strong developer with attention to detail, good problem-solving and communication skills.

NowData provides database systems for organizations throughout the Midwest. The variety of clients and challenge of designing unique systems makes this an enjoyable and fulfilling opportunity. This is not a contracting opportunity - you must be willing to live and work in the beautiful Minneapolis, Minnesota area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

• Interact with customers to define and document requirements.
• Adhere to company coding practices and procedures.
• Develop wire frames, layouts, skinning and mockups to meet requirement specifications.
• Develop technical design specifications.
• Develop and implement web-based applications.
• Design, code, test, and debug software applications.
• Deliver timely solutions that meet functionality requirements.
• Troubleshoot technical problems.
• Provide technical support.
• Occasional travel (100 mile radius - must provide own transportation).

Required Knowledge/Experience

• Knowledge of 4D or other SQL relational databases.
• Knowledge of the concepts of relational database design and operations.
• Flex/Flash, ActionScript 3, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, Web Services.
• Integrate Flash components with Web Services.
• Ability to operate and manage a relational database, including the ability to create, access, edit and update fields, query, manipulate, and generate reports.
• Knowledge and experience of information systems analysis and design techniques.
• Software development and implementation - web and client server technologies.
• Knowledge of software lifecycle methodology.
• Create design documentation and unit tests.
• Oral and written communication skills sufficient to write clear objectives and supporting documentation.
• Ability to organize and manage time effectively.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers is required.

Additional Preferred Skills

• College degree in computer science or related field preferred. AAS in programming related-area such as VB, Java, Web etc. (minimum).
• Ability to analyze complex problems for computer programming, and to work efficient solutions.
• Project management skills.
• Expert knowledge of the use of spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Ability to work as a reliable member of a team.
• High degree of creativity, problem-solving skills, organization of work, and prioritization of workload.
• Strong desire to continue learning new technologies.
